Almost 30 years ago, “Legacy Detroit” decided that Memorial Day Weekend would be a time to celebrate ourselves and our indigenous cultural production of electronic music [techno]. We chose that weekend to celebrate our homegrown global music movement. In the spirit of that legacy, Detroit Recordings presents a new annual celebration to celebrate the past, present, and future of our Detroit electronic music legacy, in Detroit’s Afrofuturist music capital, the North End.
